Writer's Letter
I approached this paper with a topic that I found interesting and with a remix that was long enough to provide a lot of analysis on. I chose the topic of war and terror because I found it interesting but not only that, it was really cool to see the reality behind what was real and what wasn’t. In this paper, I wanted to accomplish a better understanding of how different it is when you are just sitting at home watching then if you were overseas, or catching the bad guys. I want my reader to really pay attention to that too but also really think if these shows are doing a good thing by not really getting to the absolute truth. When I first started writing I think I got a lot of the big information from the remix down but in my first draft I was lacking a lot of analysis. While I revised I found it easier to provide that analysis about the misconceptions of TV and how it displays its distorted reality. I think peer response really helped me get on the right direction to do this thing because having a 1-on-1 partner was good. We got the whole class period to devote our time to each other’s papers and I really liked some of the feedback that I got about my paper and what I needed to change. I think the biggest difficulty that I had when writing this was the analysis. A lot of what I was thinking made sense in my head but when I tried to get it into paper it didn’t work as well. That was probably one of the biggest problems I had with my paper. I still think my analysis may need a little work. Also another problem I had was with the big “so what” in the conclusion, but during revising I think I did a better job of really bringing everything together and saying what was meant by the remix.
