Inquiry 3
For my Inquiry 3 I composed my own remix project through a video project by taking music and video clips and combining them to make an argument about how music has changed over time. It was a fun and different way to do an inquiry for this class. In my video I argue that popular music today in America has changed today and the lyrics of songs are becoming more unoriginal and not creative. In addition, I show how the producers of music today care more about money than the quality of the songs, and therefore many songs are made to be hits instead of having a creative meaning. In addition to providing my Inquiry 3, I decided to include my Inquiry 4 from my English 111 class that I produced last semester. I included it because it had a similar argument to my Inquiry 3 which was to emphasize the importance of music in the past, as well as what artists are doing today to change the culture. I tried to show how different types of music can still come together and have meanings that affect the listener and can change their opinions. I also tried to also show the artist’s view on what they were doing to their music and how they wanted the fans to be affected. Overall I think they provide two different analysis for the same topic of how music has changed today.
